Exploring the beautiful ambiguity of a world interwoven
Born in Orléans, France, in 1955, Bernard’s five-decade career has been a continuous evolution of sight. From the formal portraiture of his early years in Morocco—including commissions for King Hassan II—to his deep, decades-long immersion in the textures of identity in Senegal, his brush has always sought the soul beneath the surface.
Today, Bernard’s practice has reached a profound metaphysical peak. He operates as a channel for a "universal vibration," following an intuitive path that transcends the boundaries between nature, humanity, and the elements. His current collection, "The Silent Tangle," is a high-level perspective on the magnificent complicity of our planet.
Through his signature technique—painstakingly detailed yet masterfully blurred—Bernard explores the "Law of Attraction" that binds all matter together. Whether the forms on his canvas appear as organic drapes, human personas, or elemental vibrations, they are all part of the same "jammed" and interwoven mystery. He invites the viewer to look past the physical form and witness the beautiful ambiguity of existence: a world where everything is connected, and nothing is truly separate.
Working from his coastal studio in Senegal, Bernard remains a philosopher-artist, capturing the silent, magnificent energy that weaves our lives, our cultures, and our universe into one single, vibrating tapestry.
